Assistant Store Manager

(Full-Time)

WHERE YOU'LL PLAY

Vivobarefoot is opening its Toronto flagship store on Queen Street West, and we’re looking for a passionate Assistant Store Manager to help lead our team to deliver best in class guest experiences, exceptional retail leadership, and authentic storytelling.

You’ll play a key role in bringing Vivobarefoot’s first Toronto flagship store to life. In this role, you will help lead the team to deliver the highest level of guest experiences, support customers throughout their purchasing journey, and build a vibrant local community around movement and well-being.

Elevate the Vivobarefoot Experience

  • Engage with customers through product demonstrations, and guide them to make informed purchasing decisions that support their barefoot journey.
  • Develop deep knowledgeable about Vivobarefoot products, natural movement principles, and barefoot transition journeys.
  • Act as a passionate brand ambassador and help bring Vivobarefoot’s mission and values to life on the sales floor.
  • Build authentic relationships with customers and foster long-term community engagement and loyalty.
  • Handle complex customer situations with care, calmness, and professionalism.
  • Support and execute store events, activations, and community-building initiatives (run clubs, mobility workshops,wellness partnerships, etc) that drive traffic, and increase community involvement.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to continually strengthen product knowledge and customer experience skills.

Lead & Support the Team

  • Leading by example, coaching in the moment, and motivating the team day to day through in-the-moment feedback, support, and ongoing development.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.

Drive Commercial Performance

  • Lead the sales floor with energy, accountability, and a strong customer focus to support store sales goals and drive team performance.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to interpret store metrics, identify opportunities, and turn insights into action.
  • Support the achievement of store KPIs, operational goals, and customer experience standards.
  • Consistently deliver a premium customer experience that balances education, service, and commercial results.
  • Confidently recommend products based on customer needs, lifestyle, and movement goals.
  • Help drive customer retention and repeat business through relationship- building and exceptional service.

Keep the Store Running Beautifully

  • Support the management of scheduling, payroll checks, and day-to-day operational execution.
  • Confidently open and close the store according to standard operational procedures to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Maintain high standards across safety, cleanliness, visual presentation, and back-of-house organization.
  • Handle returns and operational issues professionally and efficiently.

Support Inventory & Brand Standards

  • Help manage inventory accuracy and product flow to ensure an exceptional customer experience and welcoming store environment.
  • Execute merchandising updates in alignment with Vivobarefoot brand standards.
  • Support inventory counts, replenishment, and stock organization.

ALL ABOUT YOU

  • 2-3+ years of retail leadership or comparable customer experience management experience leading teams within premium retail, wellness, lifestyle, fitness, hospitality, or community-driven environments.
  • Passion for Vivobarefoot, natural movement, wellness, sustainability, and helping others live healthier lives is highly valued.
  • A confident communicator who thrives in conversation and relationship-building; bilingual or multilingual skills are considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to balance exceptional customer experience, team leadership, and operational execution in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Naturally curious, customer-focused, and skilled at building authentic relationships with customers, team members, and community partners.
  • Experience supporting and leading core retail operations, including POS systems, scheduling, cash handling, inventory management, merchandising, and daily store operations.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient with Google Sheets, Google Docs and retail communication or collaboration tools.
  • Reliable, proactive, and energized by working within a collaborative and purpose-driven team environment
  • Expected to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. (Full-time is 40 hours per week)
  • Comfortable standing and actively engaging on the sales floor throughout shifts.
  • Able to safely lift boxes or packages up to 30 lbs and navigate stairs where required.
